I’m New

Welcome

If you are new to our church, we hope you will quickly feel at home. If you are a new member, we hope you already feel like a vital part of our church family because you are.

If you are not familiar with Central Baptist Church, we hope that the material here will help you learn more about our church.

Speaking of family, we are a family of faith seeking to know Christ and make him known.

We are a family of faith… That means we place a high value on our community. Our goal is not to be a collection of familiar strangers, but a spiritual family that shares life together through the bonds of Jesus Christ.

Seeking to know Christ…

Our first order of business at Central is to know Jesus Christ in an intimate way. This process of coming to know Jesus, or Christian formation, is at the top of our to-do list through our various ministries.

And make him known.

Once we know Jesus, we cannot be satisfied keeping him to ourselves. Our mission is to be the presence of Christ through word and deed in our community and around the world, inviting others to know the same Jesus we know and love.

This is our mission. This is our dream. Please join us as we seek, with God’s help, to make this dream a reality!

Frequently Asked Questions

Sunday Mornings

Worship at Central Baptist Church is intended to encourage our response to God’s great love for each of us with this singular task: LOVE GOD

What is worship like at Central?

Our worship can best be described as “relaxed traditional.” We believe that worship is a sacred hour, but we strive to be welcoming and open in our presentation. We hope you feel at home in our worship service. Our music is comprised mostly of hymns and choir anthems, accompanied by piano and organ, but on any given Sunday you could hear praise choruses, as well. The elements of worship each Sunday (music, readings, children’s time, etc.) reflect an intentional theme and are built around the Scriptures of the day.

What should I wear?

Come as you are. You will find people in any range of attire, from traditional “church clothes” to jeans. We welcome you to dress as you are comfortable.

Is Communion offered?

We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of every month, during worship. We observe open Communion, welcoming everyone who wishes to participate.

Get Connected

Discover events and opportunities for all ages.

How can I get involved and make connections with others when I am ready?

Fill out a visitor information card and place it in the baskets to help us get to know you better. Contact a staff member about the ministry in which you are interested. Let us recommend a Sunday school class where you can meet others, or a ministry in which you might serve alongside future friends. Come to one of the annual seasonal events, such as Fall Festival, Christmas events, and Easter activities, and get to know the spirit of Central. We look forward to meeting you.

Become a Member

There are three ways to become a member:

  1. Baptism – coming to share with the congregation that you have received Christ as Savior and Lord.
  2. Transfer of Church Membership – from another Baptist church.
  3. Statement of Faith in Christ – and previous baptism.

You may express your desire to become a church member by:

  • Going forward during the hymn of response and sharing your decision with the Pastor.
  • Scheduling an appointment to meet with one of our ministers.
